Ms. Leonard has more than 15 years financial and operational experience working with emerging biopharmaceutical companies. In October 2002, Ms. Leonard joined Epigenesis Pharmaceuticals as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer where she completed the Company's first private placement of $33 million with venture capitalists. Prior to joining Epigenesis, Ms. Leonard was Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of Memory Pharmaceuticals and V.I. Technologies where she completed fundraising activities generating proceeds in excess of $270 million. Ms. Leonard was also responsible for managing administrative operations and participated in completing licensing, manufacturing and research collaborations with global pharmaceutical companies. Ms. Leonard has completed numerous private equity financings and debt financings with major banks and at V.I. Technologies she completed an initial public stock offering. From 1985 until 1992, she was employed with KPMG, most recently as a Senior Audit Manager responsible for managing private and public financings. She received her B.S. in Accounting and Finance from Montclair State University in 1985, and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Dr. Robinson has more than 20 years experience working in the field of respiratory medicines and therapies. Dr. Robinson joined Epigenesis Pharmaceuticals in January 2002 as Vice President of Clinical Development where she developed the clinical strategy for the Companys lead program, EPI-12323. Dr. Robinsons responsibilities include exploratory development, clinical development and regulatory affairs. She also plays an important role in the Companys key relationships with medical experts and patient interest groups. Prior to joining Epigenesis, Dr. Robinson was the US Head of Clinical Drug Discovery for Respiratory and Inflammation drug development for GlaxoSmithKline. She started her pharmaceutical career at SmithKline Beecham in clinical pharmacology and later joined the respiratory clinical development team. Prior to her work with SmithKline Beecham, she managed a Phase I cystic fibrosis program at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Robinson is a graduate of Jefferson Medical College and completed her fellowship in pulmonary/critical care at the University of Pennsylvania. She completed a post-doctoral fellowship at the University of California, Davis, investigating vitamin A regulated gene expression in airway cell differentiation. Dr. Robinson is board-certified in internal medicine, pulmonary medicine and critical care medicine. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Pennsylvania as well as the Associate Director of the Adult Cystic Fibrosis Program.
